Junior Stanislas hails his ‘one-in-a-million twins’ with differing skin tones and admits only one has suffered racism despite being ‘exactly the same race’ as he speaks out about disgusting racist abuse he and his family received on Twitter

Bournemouth winger Junior Stanislas has spoken out for the first time since being subjected to racist slurs and insults about his family.

The 31-year-old suffered racial abuse by an individual on Twitter after scoring the Cherries’ winning goal in the 1-0 Championship victory at the bet365 Stadium last Saturday.

And now Stanislas has addressed racism in football, giving an insight into the experiences of his nine-year-old twins – Jacob and Alex.

‘The difficult thing with my sons are, them being twins, they’re sort of one-in-a-million twins,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘One is my colour, dark hair, dark eyes, the other has white skin, blonde hair, blue eyes.

‘The sad fact of the matter is one of them has already seen racism, and I’m sure will see it throughout his life, and the other one – although they’re exactly the same race – will never see it and never experience it, which is a real shame.’
