Republic of Mauritius- Regional CEO of Standard Chartered Bank pays courtesy call on Prime Minister

GIS – 02 May, 2019: The Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Africa and Middle East of the Standard Chartered Bank, Mr Sunil Kaushal paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, on 30 April 2019, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.  

In a statement to the press, Mr Kaushal said that he had a fruitful meeting with the Prime Minister while highlighting that discussions focused on how to position Mauritius as an international financial centre so as to attract capital and work more with the neighbouring African countries.

 

He also pointed out that he commended the Prime Minister for the conducive business environment that has been created in Mauritius, enabling the progress of businesses in the country. The purpose of his visit, he recalled, is to identify potential clients in Mauritius with the view of attracting more investments and capital, and thereby participating in the economic growth of the country.

 

Sunil Kaushal was appointed Regional CEO for Africa and Middle East of the Standard Chartered Bank in October 2015. He has nearly 30 years of banking experience in diverse markets and has been with Standard Chartered for almost 20 years, holding senior roles across the Wholesale and Consumer Bank.
