  • All 20 Premier League clubs met today to discuss broadcast arrangements
  • Matches have been screened via existing broadcast partners during lockdown
  • Latest announcement extends the existing arrangments in January, which were introduced  after the top flight abandoned disastrous pay-per-view scheme
  • Covid protocols and concussion substitutes were also on the league’s agenda

All Premier League fixtures from Saturday 30 January to the last weekend of February will be made available to fans to watch live in the UK.

The 20 top-flight clubs met today and agreed to continue existing arrangments, which make matches available to watch via Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and the BBC.

In a statement the Premier League said: ‘The Premier League and its clubs are committed to an accessible solution for fans.

‘These plans have been made with the cooperation of our broadcast partners, working with us to deliver these additional matches while stadiums are missing the supporters who are such an integral part of the game.’

The Premier League announced in December that all  games in January would be broadcast live on television. This latest announcement extends that arrangement for another month.

The current arrangments follow the disastrous pay-per-view scheme, which was introduced in October, when fans were asked to pay £14.95 for games not selected for TV.

But after significant protests among fan groups, politicians and people within the game, the scheme was scrapped in November, with matches reverting to existing broadcast services.

Details of the broadcast selections for February will be announced on Wednesday,
