Il est ainsi stipulé : « Owing to climatic conditions, power failure, or breakdown in machinery or appliances, work has been stopped after the worker has worked for more than 2 hours; or (b) half a day’s remuneration where owing to climatic conditions, power failure or breakdown in machinery or appliances. »

Hull 2-2 Rotherham: Robbie McKenzie scores own goal as Hull drop points after surrendering two-goal lead

  • Rotherham came from two goals down to draw 2-2 away to Hull
  • Hull established a two-goal lead through Jarrod Bowen and Frazier Campbell
  • Anthony Forde got goal back for Rotherham before Robbie McKenzie’s own goal

Rotherham moved two points clear of the Championship relegation zone after a rousing second-half comeback secured a 2-2 draw at Hull.

Jarrod Bowen and Fraizer Campbell, with their 16th and 10th goals of the season respectively, fired the Tigers into a 2-0 half-time lead at the KCOM Stadium.

But Millers boss Paul Warne changed the game with his substitutions, bringing on Anthony Forde and Jon Taylor.

Forde gave Rotherham hope by pouncing on a mistake from David Marshall following good work from Taylor, who then saw his shot deflected in to level the scores in the 55th minute.

Defender Clark Robertson, passed fit following an ankle injury, had headed a long Joe Mattock free-kick well wide for Rotherham in the opening minute.

Yet the Millers’ chances of ending their 40-game winless streak on the road in the second tier appeared to go up in smoke just a minute later.

A delightful through ball from Evandro pierced the visiting defence, allowing Bowen time and space to fire right-footed across Marek Rodak and into the far corner.

Hull were oozing confidence and a deserved second goal arrived in the 23rd minute through Campbell, who bundled home Kamil Grosicki’s cross from close range.

Tigers goalkeeper Marshall had to be alert to parry a Richie Towell snapshot, but normal service resumed soon after for the hosts.

Rodak was forced to scramble back to claw out a Grosicki cross that caught him off guard before Jackson Irvine curled an ambitious effort from distance over the top.

MATCH FACTS AND TABLE

Hull: Marshall; Lichaj, McKenzie, Ridgewell, Kingsley; Bowen, Henriksen, Irvine, Grosicki (Pugh 71); Evandro (Milinkovic 78); Campbell (Martin 82)

Subs not used: Burke, Stewart, Long, Kane

Goals: Bowen 2, Campbell 23

Rotherham: Rodak; Ihiekwe, Wood (Taylor 46), Robertson; Vyner, Vaulks, Ajayi, Towell (Crooks 71), Mattock; Smith, Yates (Forde 38)

Subs not used: Price, Newell, Williams, Jones

Goals: Forde 48, McKenzie 55 (o.g.)

Booked: Vyner

Warne attempted to turn the tide in the 38th minute, replacing Jerry Yates with Forde, and Will Vaulks almost gave him an instant response.

The midfielder stung the palms of Marshall with a 25-yard piledriver to hand the Millers, second best in all aspects, some encouragement.

Warne then introduced Taylor and his side responded by scoring twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Having advanced down the right wing, Taylor delivered a cross that Marshall spilled into the path of Forde, who tapped into the empty net in the 48th minute.

Then, seven minutes later, Marshall could do nothing to keep out a Taylor shot that took a huge deflection off Robbie McKenzie and nestled in the bottom corner.

Suddenly, Rotherham were in control and Marshall was forced to tip over headers from Robertson and Michael Ihiekwe.

Hull were rattled, incensing the home fans with their sloppy play, although Grosicki’s volley almost squirmed through Rodak’s hands.

Vaulks scuffed a shot wide late on for Rotherham while Irvine headed off target unmarked for Hull.

‘Fans want entertainment and that’s what we gave them’: Paul Scholes hails attacking Oldham after beginning his managerial career with a big win

  • Paul Scholes took charge of his first match as a manager on Tuesday evening
  • He led his Oldham Athletic side to a 4-1 victory over Yeovil Town in League Two
  • After the game, he said: ‘Fans want entertainment and that’s what we gave them’

Mike Keegan For Mailonline

Paul Scholes hailed his entertainers after he began his managerial career with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Yeovil.

Goals from Jose Baxter, Callum Lang, Mohamed Maouche and Chris Missilou, with Bevis Mugabi’s netting the solitary response for the visitors, gave the 44-year-old Manchester United legend a perfect start at Boundary Park.

‘That’s what I want,’ a delighted Scholes said after picking up three points on debut.

‘I want them to express themselves and enjoy themselves. Fans want entertainment and that’s what we gave them.’

Scholes was given a rousing reception at his boyhood club.

‘It was great,’ he said. ‘It’s a place I’ve come as a fan and I know you excite them when you entertain them.’

Scholes, who lives Oldham, had revealed that he had struggled to sleep since taking over at Boundary Park.

But he was expecting a sound night’s slumber after seeing his team thrash Yeovil.

‘It’s a relief and I may get some sleep tonight!’ he said.

The victory lifts Oldham to 11th, six points from the play-offs in League Two, with two home matches to come.

‘There’s a chance of the play-offs but I’m not looking far ahead,’ he said. ‘We’ll look at Crewe first on Saturday.

‘I knew there was talent in the side and they’ve shown it.’

Scholes has inherited an inflated squad at Boundary Park and admitted he has not had enough time to make his mark.

‘It’s more like a soccer school than a first-team squad,’ he joked. ‘I’ve probably only had an hour-and-a-half with them.’

Hibernian’s plans to appoint Michael Appleton close to collapse

Hibernian’s plans to appoint Michael Appleton close to collapse after hitting roadblock over his salary demands

  • Michael Appleton’s talks with Hibs look set to end without a deal being struck
  • Appleton was the club’s top managerial candidate but a deal now seems unlikely
  • With Appleton seeking more money than Hibs will offer club may look elsewhere
  • Hibs may move for Paul Heckingbottom if Appleton deal cannot be resurrected

Stephen Mcgowan For The Scottish Daily Mail

Hibernian’s plans to appoint top managerial target Michael Appleton were close to collapse on Tuesday night.

The Easter Road club hoped to have a new boss in place by Wednesday at the latest, with former Oxford and Blackburn boss Appleton the No 1 target.

The 43-year-old Englishman emerged as frontrunner, ahead of former Leeds head coach Paul Heckingbottom, after interviews in England and travelled to Edinburgh on Friday to look around the club and city.

Sportsmail understands that talks have now struck a roadblock over salary — with Appleton seeking more cash than Hibs are willing to pay. A demand for 12 months’ compensation from the former Leicester assistant manager if he loses his job is also believed to be a sticking point.

Despite being told he had taken his final game last weekend, interim manager Eddie May could now be back in the Easter Road technical area for the weekend’s clash with Hamilton.

Speaking after last weekend’s Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers, May had predicted an appointment by Tuesday or Wednesday.

‘The new man will come in and they’ve got a quarter-final (against Celtic) to look forward to,’ said the youth coach.

‘I have been told this was my last game and that the new man will come – I was told about five minutes before kick-off. I won’t be in charge for the Hamilton game.

‘I don’t have a clue who they’ve got. They just thanked me and Grant for what we’ve done and the new man should be announced some time this week.

‘I know Grant and I will take training on Monday as normal and maybe Tuesday or Wednesday the new man will be announced. It will be exciting and challenging because the new man will maybe put a different stamp on what he wants.’

The Easter Road club could now return to 41-year-old former Barnsley boss Heckingbottom if the Appleton deal can’t be resurrected.

Bristol City assistant head coach Dean Holden worked with Hibs director of football George Craig at Falkirk but dismissed talk of a return to Scotland on Tuesday.

‘No, no (I’m not off there),’ said Holden. ‘When there’s anything like that — whether it’s staff or players – it shows that Bristol City are on the right track at the moment.’
