Marcus Rashford is reportedly ready to sign a lucrative new six-year deal at Manchester United.
The England international endured some difficult moments under Jose Mourinho but has been a hugely important player for United since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker boss.
According to The Mirror, there has been a breakthrough in negotiations and Rashford is prepared to sign a new contract running until the summer of 2025, which would see him earn around £200,000-a-week.

Rashford’s current contract runs until 2020, although there is an option for a further year.
The report indicates that Rashford had doubts over his future at Old Trafford while Mourinho was in charge, but the 21-year-old is now much happier.
Rashford has been hugely impressive under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Rashford has frequently been deployed up front by Solskjaer and has scored eight goals in his last 15 games.
During his United career so far, Rashford has won the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
United are eager to tie David De Gea to a new contract, but the goalkeeper isn’t yet ready to commit his long-term future to the club.
Solskjaer’s side, who are in fourth place in the Premier League table, host Liverpool on Sunday in an intriguing fixture.

Les spéculations sur la véracité du témoignage de Jussie Smollett se multipliaient depuis des semaines, l’acteur étant soupçonné d’avoir monté l’affaire de toutes pièces.
L’acteur américain noir et gay Jussie Smollett, qui avait affirmé fin janvier avoir été victime d’une agression raciste et homophobe, a été inculpé mercredi 20 février pour dépôt de fausse plainte, a annoncé la police de Chicago.
« Le bureau du procureur du comté de Cook a approuvé les charges criminelles de comportement déplacé/dépôt de fausse plainte à l’encontre de Jussie Smollett », a écrit sur Twitter le porte-parole de la police de Chicago, Anthony Guglielmi. « Les enquêteurs prendront contact avec ses représentants légaux pour négocier un arrangement raisonnable » concernant sa remise aux autorités.
« Comme tout autre citoyen, M. Smollett bénéficie de la présomption d’innocence, particulièrement dans une enquête comme celle-ci au cours de laquelle des informations, à la fois vraies et fausses, ont constamment fuité », ont réagi dans la foulée les avocats de l’acteur. « Compte tenu de ces circonstances, nous avons l’intention de mener une enquête approfondie et de défendre vigoureusement » notre client.
Les spéculations sur la véracité du témoignage de Jussie Smollett, l’une des vedettes de la série Empire, se multipliaient depuis des semaines, l’acteur étant soupçonné d’avoir monté l’affaire de toutes pièces.
Les deux « suspects potentiels » relâchés
M. Smollett, 36 ans, avait porté plainte fin janvier en affirmant avoir été agressé par deux individus dans le centre-ville de Chicago, qui lui auraient crié des « insultes racistes et homophobes » avant de le frapper. Cette agression présumée avait alors provoqué une vive émotion et déclenché un torrent de condamnations.
La police, qui avait déjà fait état de ses doutes dimanche, avait annoncé plus tôt mercredi qu’il était considéré comme un « suspect » dans le cadre de l’enquête. Des policiers ont présenté des preuves à ce sujet à un grand jury du comté de Cook, avait alors précisé le porte-parole de la police.
La semaine dernière, la police avait déjà fait savoir que deux « suspects potentiels » avaient été laissés en liberté sans être poursuivis, tandis que des médias américains laissaient entendre que l’agression pourrait avoir été un simulacre. Jussie Smollett s’était dit en colère de voir que sa version était remise en doute.
Selon la station locale WBBM, les deux hommes en question, les frères Ola et Abel Osundairo, affirment que Jussie Smollett n’avait pas apprécié qu’une lettre de menace à son encontre n’ait pas reçu plus d’attention. « Ils ne sont coupables de rien », a déclaré leur avocate Gloria Schmidt aux journalistes mercredi, affirmant qu’ils avaient témoigné sous serment à propos de ce qu’ils savaient de l’affaire.

GIS – 21 February 2019: The International Council of the IOIG – ‘Conseil International des Jeux des Iles de l’Océan Indien’ (CIJ), proceeded on 19 February 2019 afternoon, at Voilà Hotel, Bagatelle, with the draw for the collective sports matches for the forthcoming Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) 2019.
In fact, Mauritius hosted the two-day (18-19 February 2019) annual meeting of the International Council of the IOIG which concluded, yesterday, with the drawing of lots for this year’s IOIG collective sports disciplines, namely: football, volleyball, basketball, beach volleyball and rugby sevens. A press conference to discuss the outcome of the third meeting was held following the draw ceremony. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Stephan Toussaint, and some 19 delegates of participating Island States, were present.
Outcome of the third meeting
The International Council of the IOIG has examined the request for the readmission of Sri Lanka, one of the founding members of the IOIG, within the CIJ. A delegation from Sri Lanka will be invited, at the next meeting, to present their request for readmission.
Moreover, the International Council took note of the work progress achieved by the various commissions of the organising committee of the 10th IOIG. In addition, Comoros and Maldives have presented their candidature to host the 2023 edition of the IOIG which will be finalised by the International Council at its next meeting. A team from the CIJ will also effect a site visit on the two islands before designating the host country.

Leonardo Bonucci has been roundly mocked after pretending to be injured as Atletico Madrid scored their opener in the Champions League against Juventus – and inadvertently being responsible for the strike.
Bonucci tangled with Atletico defender Jose Gimenez as the ball was swung into the box during the second half of their clash at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday.
As Gimenez applied light pressure to Bonucci, the Italian crumpled to the floor, holding his face – but clearly peeking through his fingers to watch of the referee blew his whistle.

The ball bobbled around the box taking a number of deflections, before it came off the side of Bonucci as he rolled around on the floor.
With the ball free, and the man who had been marking him indisposed, Gimenez was free to sweep the ball home and give Atletico the lead. They went on to win the first leg clash 2-0.
Bonucci, having watched as the comical scenes went on around him, added an extra layer of farce by rolling around with added vigour after the ball hit the net, in a futile attempt to draw a foul.
He was perhaps inspired by central defensive partner Giorgio Chiellini, who was judged to have been fouled by Alvaro Morata earlier in the half, resulting in the Chelsea loanee’s goal being chalked off via VAR.
However Bonucci’s play-acting was in vain, and made him a figure of fun on social media after the game.
Amused fans posted GIFs, videos and memes at his expense, while one compared him to Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets, renowned for his theatrics.
The upshot of the night’s result is that Juve face a very tough ask to reach the Champions League quarter finals after defeat in Madrid.

Ils ont péri dans l’incendie criminel qui a ravagé l’immeuble où se trouvait leur appartement dans le 16e arrondissement de Paris, le 4 février.
La trentenaire, qui travaillait comme femme de ménage, s’était installée en France avec son fils après s’être séparée de son époux. Elle s’y trouvait depuis environ quatre ans. Une cagnotte en ligne a été créée pour aider le père d’Adel Allas, qui devait trouver environ Rs 200 000, pour rapatrier le corps de son ex-épouse et de son fils.
Les proches ont bénéficié du soutien de LCMB et Associés, cabinet d’avocats franco-mauricien situé à Paris, pour les procédures de rapatriement.

One of the first intriguing proclamations of Pep Guardiola‘s time in England was that Fernandinho could play in ten positions. Everywhere but goalkeeper, apparently. He knows the game that well.
We are only beginning to truly see that in action now, partly because of Ilkay Gundogan’s re-emergence as the player he was at Borussia Dortmund.
Given Gundogan’s form, Fernandinho is not always the necessity he once was as the sitter and has twice started as a central defender in three weeks.

Guardiola’s vision for this City team continues to evolve over time and with that has come a little tinker involving his enforcer. ‘I think Ferna can play in that position, I am pretty sure,’ the manager said.

That is all well and good and some of his through balls were exceptional earlier in the game. Both David Silva and Sergio Aguero were beneficiaries of his ingenuity.
But on a night that turned on a controversial VAR decision, City needed more defensive nous.

However well Fernandinho reads the game, when the heat is on and backs are against the wall, they need steel. They need someone who has defended his whole career. They need someone like Vincent Kompany, who was only fit enough for the bench against Schalke.
John Stones has a groin injury and was a huge miss in a hectic seven-minute spell before the break, at the end of which Fernandinho was caught grappling Salif Sane from a free-kick and conceded the softest of penalties.
There is merit in dropping Fernandinho deeper, and it worked a treat in the recent victory over Arsenal. Yet there will be games, and specific instances, where it just does not work.
On Wednesday night was one of those and Guardiola cannot really plan for that. It is therefore his gamble if he persists with this experiment.

Metro Express : deux poutres placées à La Butte

L’installation des « girders » (poutres) sur la partie élevée entre le pied de la Montagne-des-Signaux, précisément à La Butte et Le Caudan débouchant sur le Train Terminal, avec à côté le Victoria Square Urban Terminal, a débuté dans la soirée de mardi. En effet, deux poutres d’une longueur de 27 mètres pesant 55 tonnes chacune ont été posées jusqu’aux petites heures du matin.
Les constructeurs indiens de Larsen & Toubro ont prévu 50 pilings pour les 56 girders sur le trajet long de 426 mètres reliant la Montagne-des-Signaux et Le Caudan. La longueur de ces poutres, fabriquées selon des normes de sécurité strictes dans le Pre-Cast Yard de Barkly, est de 27 mètres avec un poids de 55 tonnes chacune. La pose de ces deux poutres à hauteur de La Butte marque le commencement de ces installations qui devraient durer jusqu’à début mai. Des dispositions spécifiques ont d’ailleurs été prises en matière de sécurité de concert avec la police pour le transfert de ces bétons armés de Barkly à Caudan. Cette ‘Super Structure’ a été conçue en prenant en considération la topologie de la région, surtout du côté de La Butte et la Montagne-des-Signaux où se déroulent également des travaux de drains pour l’évacuation des eaux. Selon les recoupements d’informations de sources autorisées du côté de Metro Express Ltd et de Larsen & Toubro, plusieurs études géotechniques ont été conduites pour le design de la structure.
Par ailleurs, on indique que le suivi est effectué par les consultants de la Singapore Cooperation Enterprise et Rites. Dans cette zone de La Butte, le marché historique s’y trouvant a pu être conservé et ne sera pas démoli; comme tel est le cas pour le pont rouge de Grande-Rivière-Nord-Ouest. Dans la foulée, la responsable de communication de Larsen & Toubro, Nausheen Aullybux, laisse entendre que « le transfert et placement de ces poutres nécessitent une planification taillée sur mesure et minutieuse ». Elle affirme que Larsen & Toubro peut compter sur deux Trailer Cranes de 250 tonnes chacune et importées à Maurice pour les besoins de ces travaux pour soulever ces girders. « Rien n’est laissé au hasard et tout se fait sous une supervision stricte des normes de sécurité », a laissé entendre la responsable de communication de L&T.
Sur l’ensemble du tracé du Metro Express reliant Rose-Hill à Port-Louis, L&T a prévu un total de 214 girders placées notamment de Rose-Hill, Chebel, St-Louis et Grande-Rivière-Nord-Ouest.
