Leicester midfielder Dennis Praet set to join Torino on loan

Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet is joining Torino on loan with view to a permanent £12.8million transfer.

The Belgium international is heading to Italy for his medical on Monday and his departure will free up funds for Leicester to add another forward.

Brendan Rodgers has been scouring the market for a winger who can boost his squad and has considered the likes of Porto’s Luis Diaz, David Neres at Ajax, Manchester United’s Dan James and Ademola Lookman of Red Bull Leipzig.

The 27-year-old Praet struggled for game time last season and has been eager to move on and kickstart his career.

Talks began last week and accelerated on Sunday with an agreement expected over the next 24 hours once his medical is completed.

Leicester are also looking to offload Hamza Choudhury and have been waiting for Newcastle to return with a bid. Manager Steve Bruce is desperate to bring in the England U21 international before Tuesday’s deadline but has been told he needs to streamline his squad further if possible.

Manchester United’s Daniel James is one player of interest to Leicester at present 

His Leicester counterpart Rodgers underlined his plans at the weekend after Saturday’s win at Norwich City.

‘We would like to do at least one more (signing) if we can, to give more attacking impetus at the top end of the field. We have a player that we would like to be able to do. Hopefully we can.

‘I know the club will always do their very best for us to try to help us do that. But we may need a few more to go out.’
