‘I’m set for life, I don’t have to fight’: Jorge Masvidal threatens to WALK AWAY from UFC if he doesn’t get a bigger cut from pay-per-view bonuses

Jorge Masvidal has threatened to walk away from UFC, insisting he is ‘set for life’ as his war of words with Dana White over pay continues.
The UFC welterweight has been at odds with the company for several weeks over his pay, and the cut athletes are taking from UFC pay-per-view events.
Masvidal himself has complained that president White has offered him less money for a potential fight against Kamaru Usman than what he made against Nate Diaz in November, and he explained his gripes in an Instagram Live chat.
UFC star Jorge Masvidal has threatened to quit the company over pay cuts from PPV events
The war of words between Masvidal and president Dana White has been going on for weeks
‘It’s about how much I’m going to receive from the pay-per-view,’ Masvidal said.
‘How much of a share I want from the pay-per-view. That’s one of the main things that I’m fighting about. I don’t feel that cut is fair and I don’t agree with it.
‘I love to fight and I always get told don’t say that. Because you know why? They expect me to do it cheap or damn near free. I love to compete in the sport that I do. But I’ve been doing it for a long time.
‘I’ve been in the shadows studying, learning — what makes this guy be able to get that much money? That whole plan, we’ve been doing it for a while.
‘We have a formula just like I do for fighting. I have a formula for the business side of it and if they don’t want to pay me what I’m worth, it’s cool. I’m set for life. I don’t have to fight. I fight because I love it.’
Masvidal made his thoughts clear to his fans in an explosive Instagram Live conversation
During the social media conversation, Masvidal was asked about a variety of opponents, from Diaz to the recently retired Conor McGregor – but his explosive answer was the same.
‘If we get our worth, it doesn’t matter who it is,’ Masvidal added. ‘I fight because I love it. I’ve been doing this, about 17 years now, I don’t have to f****** fight. I don’t. I love to do this s*** but I’m going to get paid every f****** time I do it.
‘So if it’s Nate, whoever it is, it doesn’t matter. Just pay me what the f*** I’m worth. Of course, I would love to f****** fight with Nate just because I didn’t get to put him to sleep when I wanted to.’
