Injury-ravaged Liverpool left with NO fit centre-backs as Jurgen Klopp suffers yet another blow with Joel Matip brought off with back problem against Fulham

Joel Matip suffered a back injury in Liverpool‘s 1-1 draw against Fulham to add to give Jurgen Klopp an even bigger selection headache.

Matip had to be taken off at half time at Craven Cottage, with Takumi Minamino replacing him. As a result Liverpool now have no fit senior centre-backs. 

Liverpool are without a host of players, especially with regards to defenders, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez having both suffered long-term injuries.

Fabinho has frequently been filling in at centre-back this season and Jordan Henderson partnered him at the heart of the defence for the second half.

Liverpool have youngsters Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams at their disposal but are lacking experienced options at centre-back.

In addition, Liverpool have had to cope with injuries in other positions. Attacker Diogo Jota, for instance, could be out for two months with a knee injury.

Furthermore, Thiago Alcantara, James Milner, Kostas Tsimkas and Naby Keita are also sidelined. 

Bobby Decordova-Reid had put Fulham ahead but Mohamed Salah’s penalty earned Liverpool a point.
