Dortmund caretaker manager Edin Terzic welcomes star striker Erling Haaland back from a hamstring injury as the Bundesliga side look to bounce back from poor run of form

  • Erling Haaland was ruled out of action for a month with a hamstring injury
  • Dortmund have struggled since, winning just one of their four league matches
  • The Norwegian is expected to return for Sunday’s clash against Wolfsburg

Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed that striker Erling Haaland will be in line for a much-anticipated return from injury for the side’s clash against Wolfsburg on Sunday.

The star Norwegian has scored 17 goals in just 14 matches for the Germans this season, so it’s no coincidence that they’ve struggled for form since he got injured.

The 20-year-old injured his hamstring in the lead-up to their Champions League match against Lazio on the 2nd of December, ruling him out for a month.

Since his absence from the side they’ve only won once in four Bundesliga matches – a run of form which included a 5-1 defeat to Stuttgart.

That defeat spelled the end for manager Lucien Favre, with Edin Terzic taking over in a caretaker capacity.

The match will be Terzic’s first game in charge with Haaland in the line-up, with the side looking to leapfrog their opponents into fourth with a victory.

‘The rehab went very well. We assume that Erling can play again against Wolfsburg,’ Zorc told BILD.
