EFL return just two positive coronavirus results out of 3,141 tests carried out across the last week in the Championship and League One

  • The latest round of EFL Covid-19 testing has produced some encouraging news
  • There were only two positive tests out of 3,141 that were carried out at 19 teams
  • All 24 Championship clubs had tests, while five team in League One did too 

The EFL have revealed the results of their latest round of coronavirus testing, with just one individual contracting the virus out of 2855 tests in the Championship over the last week.

Overall, two positive tests came back from 3141 that were carried out across both leagues. 

Players and coaching staff across the 24 Championship teams that are still in action were tested. The individual who has tested positive is unknown, but will now isolate in accordance with EFL guidelines.

There are still at least two more rounds of fixtures involved for Championship clubs to complete the 2019-20 season, as well as the play-offs to follow. 

There was similarly encouraging news in League One, where one positive test came back out of the 286 that were carried out across five teams over the last week.

The League One season came to a close on Monday when Wycombe defeated Oxford in the play-off final to seal promotion to the Championship.
