European sides, including PSG, ‘are interested in a move for Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’, but the striker’s £350,000-a-week salary could threaten any potential deals

  • Arsenal could look to offload outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month
  • European clubs are said to be interested but his wages could deter a move
  • The Gabon international is Arsenal’s highest earner on £350,000-a-week
  • Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have offered a loan deal and to pay his wages in full

European sides are interested in a move for Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, including Paris Saint-Germain, but the striker’s wages pose an issue.

The 32-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Emirates and was stripped of the Gunners captaincy in December following his latest ‘disciplinary breach’ at the club.

Aubameyang has not featured in Mikel Arteta‘s side since a five-minute cameo against Everton in December and has been linked with a move away from Arsenal in the transfer window.

It is understood Arsenal are looking for a solution and it is plausible one could be found before the transfer window slams shut.

Sides in Europe are said to be interested in the Gabon international, including Ligue 1 giants PSG, according to The Athletic.

However, the forward’s £350,000-per-week wages could pose a problem to any potential deal.

Arsenal reportedly received an offer for a loan move for Aubameyang from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.

Al Hilal, managed by former Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim, proposed a deal to take Aubameyang on loan until the end of the season with the option to buy and cover his entire salary.

But it is unlikely Aubameyang to accept a move to the Middle East at this stage in his career.

Aubameyang is under contract at Arsenal until 2023 but if he is to leave north London this month it is thought he would want to stay in one of Europe’s top-flights.
