  • Andy Robertson has revealed his most important game of Liverpool’s title run

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has made a playful dig at his manager Jurgen Klopp, after claiming the Liverpool boss has ‘got the dad look down to a tee.’

Fresh off the back of lifting the Premier League title, Oxlade-Chamberlain along with Andy Robertson and Divock Origi have come together creatively to work with fashion giants Levis to commemorate an iconic season in clothing.

But ‘the Ox’ could not resist making a joke at Klopp’s expense, albeit in the form of a back-handed compliment.

‘As far as jeans go he’s got the dad look down to a tee, he’s like a cool dad,’ Oxlade-Chamberlain said with a laugh.

‘Christmas party – he’s rocking up in a nice pair of skinny jeans with a little shirt, little bit of chest hair poking through and a jacket… he keeps it cool.’

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s descriptions were met with laughter from both Robertson and Origi, who also joined in as part of a zoom call with TV presenter John ‘Fenners’ Fendley and street artist Akse.

The purpose of the chat was to brainstorm ideas after Liverpool had linked up with Levis.

The denim giants had tasked the players to work alongside the creative mind of Akse to produce three bespoke jackets, even referencing part of their personal journeys through what has been a hugely successful campaign.

In selecting the elements of his jacket Oxlade-Chamberlain chose to carry symbolism of Liverpool’s huge victory over rivals Manchester United in January, while Origi focused on his match-winning exploits in the Merseyside derby with Everton – in which he scored twice.

Robertson continued the theme of picking a match close to his heart, and admitted there was a certain fixture this season in which he felt he proved his worth to the club.

The Scotsman selected his season highlight as the late headed goal he scored in the 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

‘For me I probably proved my worth, as such, at Aston Villa away,’ Robertson explained.

‘I don’t score many goals, especially with my head! It’s amazing what happens when you close your eyes and hope for the best!

‘We were losing going into the final minutes, I got the equaliser and Sadio [Mane] then did what Sadio does best and popped up with the winner. That weekend was a massive result for us and kept our momentum going.’

One of the trucker jackets will be on display in the Levi’s Liverpool ONE store for the next week with fans able to win one of the jackets by entering a prize draw.

Each jacket will be delivered to the winners with a certificate of authenticity and will be gift-wrapped in part of the Kop End goal-net, making them a truly money-can’t-buy memento for an unforgettable season.

All proceeds from the draw will be donated to the LFC Foundation, to help fund local community pantries in Liverpool through its COVID-19 recovery response work that provides vital food supplies to the most high-need communities in Liverpool.
