Wales produced a stunning second-half display to defeat England in Six Nations clash
WALES RATINGS
15. Liam Williams 7.5 – Beat three defenders from deep in the back-field. Such a balanced runner and more confident now in retreat.
14. George North 6 – Some thundering down the wing, but was made to cut inside, where each time the Welsh attack died.
13. Jonathan Davies 7 – Defensively the best in the business at outside centre. Not the day to dazzle with his attacking skills, though.
12. Hadleigh Parkes 6 (Owen Watkin, 79) – Lacked the creativity and vision to unleash dangerous outside backs, but made 70 metres on his own. One alarming butcher of a huge overlap.
11. Josh Adams 8 – Hardly had the space, and then came up with an incredible leap for the final match-securing score. Incredible athleticism.

Wing Josh Adams demonstrated incredible athleticism to score the decisive try
10. Gareth Anscombe 6 (Biggar, 61 7.5) – Not the definitive afternoon to prove he is the World Cup No 10. A charged down kick, and a few nervy moments before he was replaced by Biggar.
9. Gareth Davies 7 (A Davies, 77 5) – Sprightly and quick to spring off the line in defence to shut down England’s attack but service to Anscombe not as rapid.

Gareth Davies enjoyed a strong games in defence with quick line speed to shut down England
1. Rob Evans 6 (Nicky Smith, 61) – Lost a couple of scrums against the head, one of which provided England with three points.
2. Ken Owens 5 ( Elliot Dee 77, 6) – Lineout poor, all starting from a bad first throw. Often so steady but creaked. Better in contact and as the emotional lightning rod.
3. Tomas Francis 6 (Dillon Lewis, 61 6.5) Mullet flapped in the wind, but the scrum was not Wales’ forte when he was on the tight-head.
4. Cory Hill 7 (Adam Beard, 71) – Brought in to rule the skies in the lineout, but that set-piece faltered all afternoon. Made up for that with try to end Wales’ 35-phase drive.
5. Alun Wyn Jones 8.5 – Way more than just a brute, he showed glorious deftness of hand too on his 18th Test v England. Baying to his people at the end.

Alun Wyn Jones proved he was more than just a brute with deft hands and captain’s display
6. Josh Navidi 8 – So abrasive, he is turning into one of Wales’ most reliable figures. Made the most Welsh tackles.
7. Justin Tipuric 7 – Slow to react when Curry nipped in for his try, but up near the top of the tackling count.
8. Ross Moriarty 7 (Aaron Wainwright 77, 5) – Huge carrying in the build-up to the Hill score, but was out-foxed by Curry a few times.

Back row Ross Moriarty played a key role in creating Cory Hill’s second-half try
ENGLAND RATINGS
15. Elliot Daly 7 – Another assured outing going forward and solid under the high ball until Liam Williams outjumped him at the end. Missed a long-range penalty.
14. Jack Nowell 8 – Hurt in the opening minute but impressive all over the field thereafter, particularly under the high ball and coming inside to get involved at the breakdown.
13. Henry Slade 8 – Classy performance facing a first-class competitor in Jonathan Davies and found space to stretch Wales, notably in the build-up to the Curry try.

Henry Slade produced a classy display at outside centre as he nails down a key role
12. Manu Tuilagi 7 – Handed a key midfield role opposite Hadleigh Parkes but didn’t hit the heights and missed some important tackles. Didn’t look worth the 2.5 million-euro price Racing are contemplating.
11. Jonny May 8 (Joe Cokanasiga 70) – No tries but England’s Ferrari was in top gear catching, tackling and chasing. A constant threat — but England probably didn’t get the ball in his hands enough
10. Owen Farrell 7 – Vocal and influential as always but England lost tactical control during the second half and he was — this time — unable to dig them out of a hole.

Owen Farrell was influential in the first half but could not dig England out of a hole in second
9. Ben Youngs 7 – Kept nudging England forward in a breakneck paced first half but quieter after that as his side ran up too many blind alleys
1. Ben Moon 7 (Ellis Genge 77) – First Six Nations start for loose-head given the job of filling Mako Vunipola’s oversized jersey. Great defensively with huge tackle on Alun Wyn Jones to set the standard.
2. Jamie George 7 (Luke Cowan-Dickie 77) – Making light of the prolonged absence of Dylan Hartley with constant supporting work and secure lineout delivery.
3. Kyle Sinckler 7 (Harry Williams 56, 7) – The ‘timebomb’ produced a brilliant first-half performance full of swagger, tackles and scrummaging power. Won penalty for Farrell’s opening three-pointer.
4. Courtney Lawes 8 (Brad Shields 77) – Few celebrations on his 30th birthday after this result but in prime form with some big midfield hits and solid carries before being forced off in the latter stages.

Second row Courtney Lawes was in prime form until picking up an injury late on
5. George Kruis 8 (Joe Launchbury 64, 7) – Unpicked Wales’s lineout, including a key steal near England’s line, and one of the leading tacklers as Wales ran into a white wall.
6. Mark Wilson 8 – England’s outstanding find of the season maintained his high standards by going toe-to-toe with a quality Wales back row.
7. Tom Curry 9 – Faced a trying afternoon against Tipuric but rose to the occasion. A major nuisance at breakdown and alert to take his try brilliantly and still winning turnovers deep in the second half.

Young flanker Tom Curry was brilliant across the field and also added a try in the first half
8. Billy Vunipola 7 – Lots on his shoulders to give England go-forward and made key carries without breaking out to really hurt the home side.
