Bedsonline supports its clients in the face of soaring booking demand

The post Bedsonline supports its clients in the face of soaring booking demand appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily.

Bedsonline’s latest figures show that booking demand is stronger than ever, with a 114% increase in gross sales in UK 2022 financial year compared to the same period in 2019. As international tourist arrivals continue to grow as the latest travel restrictions are lifted, Bedsonline provides its clients with the best tools to support the growth of the more than 60,000 travel consultants around the world who work with the company.
Taking to account the needs of its partners to manage this growing demand for the summer, Bedsonline booking engine speaks to their understanding of market requirements, as well as their command of technology: powered by a proprietary algorithm, the booking engine seamlessly pairs the best hotels from an expansive, 300,000-strong portfolio to an advisor’s unique query, considering the criteria that match the right experience to the end client. A wide variety of filters – ranging from board basis to sustainability credentials – enables advisors to put the client’s preferences at the centre of every consultation, while further options (such as free cancellation, partial cancellation, non-refundable bookings and current promotions) offer reassurance and satisfy a desire for greater flexibility.
Through the Bedsonline booking engine, travel advisors can book not only accommodation but also ancillary services for their bookings. From car rental to private transfers, theme park tickets and activities, Bedsonline offers its customers the possibility to book everything in one place.
“We are constantly working to enhance our clients’ experience through our booking engine. With that in mind, and to ensure advisors are compensated fairly for their efforts, we’ve given control to advisors to add a customized fee (adjustable to a maximum of $999.99) to their bookings. The fee – applicable on a quote-by-quote basis, or to all future bookings at the click of a button – doesn’t just enable advisors to boost their income: it allows them to tailor the customer experience as appropriate” said Bertrand Sava, General Manager for Retail at Hotelbeds, the parent company of Bedsonline.
To get the most out of every booking, Bedsonline also has its award-winning marketing and trends tool exclusively for its customers, The Compass. Offering insights, with real-time global data revealing emerging trends which are then tailored to its user, based on what it can learn about their typical booking habits, The Compass makes it easier than ever for advisors to identify the right destinations to offer to their clients at the best possible time.
Indeed, the Flyer Creator tool – available to use from within The Compass and on other landing pages across the Bedsonline website – is an effective way for advisors to promote their product with minimal effort and at zero cost. “Our aim is to make it very simple and easy to use. In under five minutes, advisors can craft attractive marketing materials complete with their own branding, unique disclaimers and up to eight hotels before saving the flyer, and sending it to the clients from within the tool itself” added Bertrand.
And with comfort and ease for its customers at the forefront, the company has simplified the way travel professionals can solve problems by introducing self-service tools.
Accessible via the Bedsonline website, the SelfSeT toolkit saves advisors time by allowing them to manage and modify bookings at their own convenience. From adding special requests at any time, adding or removing room nights, to a flexible cancellation tool, travel advisors can now manage their bookings easier than ever before.

Dane Zorko slammed by AFL fans after Brisbane captain leaves Harrison Petty in tears
[ad_1]
AFL fans have turned on Brisbane captain Dayne Zorko after he left Melbourne player Harrison Petty in tears at the Gabba.
Petty was visibly emotional during the three-quarter time break, spending some time off the field before returning later in the game in the 58-point win by the Demons over the Lions on Friday.
His absence from the field was sparked after a spat with Zorko who allegedly made a comment to his face about the Melbourne star’s family.
The incident has prompted an investigation by the AFL, an apology from Brisbane Lions and an outpouring of criticism from angry fans condemning Zorko.
‘Really distressing scenes seeing Harrison Petty so emotional on the ground,’ one wrote on Twitter.
‘Good to see the support from the Dees’ coaches at 3QT. Whatever was said shouldn’t ever happen! Zorko and Brisbane need to take some more responsibility here.’

Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin is seen comforting his star after the incident at 3QT
The incident has prompted an investigation by the AFL, an apology from Brisbane Lions and an outpouring of criticism from angry fans condemning Zorko
Another added: ‘About last night.. Harrison Petty, we’re right behind you mate… Dayne Zorko, you reap what you sow, hope the media eat you and your disgusting sportsmanship alive.’
Some fans were more blunt on sharing how they really felt about Zorko.
‘Dane Zorko is a terrible leader and his bulls*** holds Brisbane back all success they have is in spite of him,’ one wrote.
‘It was weird when they chose him to be captain but to persist when he continues to be grubby and nasty is truly bizarre and it’s a real contrast to Fagan and other club(s).’
on Fox Footy ex-AFL star and commentator Garry Lyon suggested the Lions needed to ‘put Dane Zorko up’ to explain what was said.
Petty was comforted by head coach Simon Goodwin and a number of backroom staff, and started the fourth term on the interchange bench as he sought to ‘reset’ himself after the incident.
The Demons rallied around their teammate to storm home to a 58-point victory over their premiership rivals, and after the game Melbourne hardman Steven May was seen fronting up to Zorko – who eventually made a beeline for Petty and the pair were seen shaking hands.
‘I don’t know exactly what was said, but Petts wasn’t like he normally is. He’s a tough country boy if you know him, not much rattles him,’ he told AFL Nation after the match.
‘I had a chat to Zorko at the end and told him whatever you said, you crossed the line. He was pretty remorseful but he told me he didn’t say it, I think there was a misunderstanding.

‘There’s a line that you don’t cross on-field. For one of my teammates to be upset, it pinched a nerve.’
Melbourne general manager Alan Richardson told Channel 7 of the incident: ‘Petts thought he heard something that was probably over the top in terms of a reference to a member of his family.
‘We actually don’t have all of the information so it would be unfair of me to say anything with respect to Brisbane.
‘I went over to Danny Daly [Brisbane footy manager] at the break to let him know that it happened and if it happened then perhaps they might want to sort it out.’
Goodwin said post-match: ‘Petts thought he heard something inappropriate about a family member [and] he was a bit upset about it.
‘Brisbane have spoken to us and obviously the AFL will look at it. That’s pretty much the details we’ll give at the moment and we’ll just hand it over to the AFL.

Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin says the AFL will investigate Friday’s incident
‘Petts was a bit emotional at three quarter-time. He went away, reset himself and came back into the game.
‘Brisbane have been quite apologetic towards us and that’s the type of footy club they are. They’re a very respected humble footy club and we’ll taken them on their word.’
Asked how Petty was feeling, Goodwin said: ‘He’s fine. He’s all good.
‘I thought his last quarter was pretty strong.’
Demons captain Max Gawn said: ‘I wasn’t there, there were a few words, all I saw was my teammate in tears.
‘It got us going a little bit, there’s plenty of big fish to fry over the next few weeks and I think they sorted it out. I saw a little handshake so hopefully all is well.’
It was reported the AFL had contacted Melbourne on Saturday and the club has advised they have accepted an apology from the Brisbane Lions and are happy to let the matter rest.
However the AFL probe will continue and there is a chance Zorko could face sanction under the AFL’s anti-vilification code.
The Demons rallied around their teammate to storm home to a 58-point victory over their premiership rivals, and after the game Melbourne hardman Steven May was seen fronting up to Zorko
‘I was alerted to an incident that had happened at three-quarter-time by Alan Richardson,’ Daly told Seven after the match.
‘We spoke to our player (Zorko), he’s apologised to the Melbourne player (Petty), and I’ve apologised to the Melbourne Football Club straight after the game as well.
Zorko is no stranger to post-match incidents with opponents after having two run-ins with Suns midfielder Touk Miller in the past.
Miller snubbed the handshake offer extended by the young midfielder after the first Queensland derby in 2019, before then delivering a verbal barrage at the Sun in the return fixture that year before bizarrely following Miller around the field with his hand extended after a brief post-game handshake.

Princess Cruises removes vaccine requirement for most voyages

The post Princess Cruises removes vaccine requirement for most voyages appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily.

Princess Cruises has announced updated COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, removing the vaccine requirement for most voyages of less than 16 days so that anyone can cruise, and adjusting pre-travel testing requirements to make it less complicated.
Starting Sept. 6, vaccinated guests sailing on voyages of less than 16 days will no longer have to test before boarding and only need to upload proof of vaccination while getting OceanReady. Unvaccinated guests, or those who do not provide proof of vaccination, on those itineraries will self-test within three days of sailing and upload proof of a negative test before boarding.
These new guidelines apply to itineraries from all departure ports except where government regulations and protocols may vary like Canada, Greece and Australia.
Below are the key points for Princess’ updated CruiseHealth guidelines for embarkation:
- No pre-cruise testing for vaccinated guests on voyages of up to 15 nights (guests 5 and older) with the exception of full Panama Canal transits, trans-ocean and other special itineraries; unvaccinated guests must provide a negative self-test result taken within three days of embarkation (unvaccinated children under 5 years do not require pre-cruise testing)
- Guests sailing on voyages 16 nights or longer, or sailing on full Panama Canal transits, trans-ocean and other specific itineraries, need to take a supervised test within three days of embarkation (guests 5 and older). Guests on these types of voyages will be contacted directly by an Ocean Navigator to assist.
Princess’ updated guidelines reflect the cruise line’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for all guests and crew.
“These updated guidelines help ensure a Princess vacation is available to everyone,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises. “The Princess experience is truly one-of-a-kind and we encourage everyone to take a Princess vacation that offers amazing service at unmatched value.”
The updated guidelines are subject to the local regulations of applicable homeports and destinations.

The Qantas-Alliance Airlines Merger Raises Concerns
[ad_1]
The post The Qantas-Alliance Airlines Merger Raises Concerns appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) released a statement of issues outlining preliminary competition concerns with Qantas Airways’ proposed acquisition of Alliance Aviation Services.
Qantas and Alliance fly business customers to regional and remote areas of Australia. Mining and resource businesses in Queensland and Western Australia rely heavily on aircraft to provide “fly-in, fly-out” services for their employees.
“We are concerned that this proposed acquisition will substantially lessen competition for air transport services to and from regional and remote areas in Queensland and Western Australia for corporate customers,” ACCC Chair Gina Cass-Gottlieb.
“This merger would combine two of the top three operators of air transport services in Queensland and Western Australia,” said Ms Cass-Gottlieb.
“Industry participants have expressed strong concerns about the impact of this proposed acquisition on air transport services, particularly to regional and remote areas,”
In light of the proposed merger, Alliance would no longer be able to compete with Qantas on the regional passenger transport route between Brisbane and Moranbah.
Competition from airlines like Virgin and the regional services part of Cobham, recently acquired by Rex, is being considered by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
The ACCC is also thinking about how current and new entrants might fare against Qantas in regional flights if Alliance stops providing aircraft leasing services.
Concerning wet-leasing medium-sized aircraft, Alliance is a major provider for other airlines. A wet lease is a contract between two parties in which one airline rents an aircraft and the services of another airline or business to operate the rented aircraft. Airlines frequently turn to wet leases when adding new routes or temporarily increasing capacity.
“Our preliminary view is that there are already significant barriers for airlines who want to enter or expand their operations in regional and remote areas, including access to pilots, airport facilities and infrastructure, and associated regulatory approvals. The removal of Alliance as a supplier of wet-leases or the increase in the price of wet-leases for Qantas’ competitors is likely to increase these barriers significantly,” Ms Cass-Gottlieb said.
“A competitive and well-functioning aviation sector is fundamental to the Australian economy. We will closely scrutinise all mergers that may reduce competition in this sector.”
