In an attempt to minimise the disruption of long call hold times, Royal Caribbean is introducing a ‘Call Back’ function for travel advisors. The feature is first available to trade partners booking groups but is expected to be available for U.S.- and Canada-based advisors by the end of August.
“We diligently listened to feedback from our valued travel partners and have made strides in our call centers to be more efficient and ease hold times,” said Vicki Freed, senior vice president of sales, trade support and service at Royal Caribbean International.
The functionality is offered to advisors when the hold time is more than 20 minutes. When travel advisors call the contact center, they are prompted with the option of a call back. If accepted, the travel advisor leaves a brief message with their call-back number. A direct number to a land line or mobile is required; extensions are not supported.
This is the latest action from Royal Caribbean to help advisors maximize their time and reduce hold times. Other automatic enhancements have included FlexPay, which enables advisors to pre-schedule up to 10 automatic payments, an FCC redemption tool, and eQuote, a marketing tool that helps advisors create tailored quotes.

As a key step to provide direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the much-awaited newly-built Deoghar Airport on 12 July. It has been constructed at an estimated cost of around INR 400 crore. The Terminal Building of the airport is equipped to handle over five lakh passengers annually.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation tweeted about the newly-built Deoghar airport and has laid emphasis on how it will give a big boost to Baba Baidyanath Dham-centric tourism in the region. “The newly constructed airport at #Deoghar is a big boost to Baba Baidyanath Dham-centric tourism in the region. Jharkhand’s second airport after Ranchi will add to the prosperity of the state,” the tweet read.
The airport is ready to become operational as two flight run trials have been successful, officials earlier said. The Indian low-cost airline IndiGo recently announced that it will start flight operations between Jharkhand’s Deoghar and Kolkata. The Deoghar-Kolkata flights will operate four times each week, the airline said.

In her words, we all should take as many risks as it only allows us to know our limits and strive further. And for this inspiring woman, seems like sky is also not the limit. Soaring high in the sky, the Hong Kong-based pilot saw it as a calling to join the aviation industry eventually.
From her training days at Flight Training Adelaide to volunteering at Hong Kong Youth Aviation Academy (HKYAA) as an instructor, she dons many hats.
Talking about the last two years when aviation industry faced the turbulence, Ho only saw this as an opportunity to do things differently. Gearing up for future days and firmly believing that we need more women pilots in the industry, Ho took the time to serve on the Female Pilot Advisory Group (FPAG) and the Peer Assistant Network (PAN) within her company.
With a vision to empower more women, she has created a series called #LifeLessonsFromTheSky on social media and continues to spread the good vibes.
