PSG have an injury crisis ahead of the Manchester United clash… how will they line-up? How do key men Marcus Rashford and Kylian Mbappe compare? And what about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Thomas Tuchel?
- Paris Saint-Germain have a number of their key men out of Tuesday night’s game
- Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is in hot form ahead of the match
- Sportsmail has taken a look at the situation ahead of the match at Old Trafford

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain meet in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
There are plenty of issues to consider ahead of the game, such as PSG’s line-up amid their ongoing injury crisis, how the two managers compare and how their key men will get on.
Sportsmail has taken a look at the situation ahead of the all-important clash at Old Trafford.

Edinson Cavani will be a notable absentee when PSG take on Manchester United on Tuesday
HOW WILL THEY LINE-UP?
Manchester United: De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw; Matic, Herrera, Pogba; Lingard, Rashford, Martial
There are slight doubts over whether Eric Bailly will be included in the side — Phil Jones is the likely other option for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Expect Marcus Rashford to get the nod ahead of Romelu Lukaku on the back of his ongoing goalscoring form and the fact he was rested at Fulham.

The inclusion of Eric Bailly is one of the big questions ahead of Tuesday night’s encounter
PSG: Buffon, Alves, Kimpembe, Silva, Bernat; Paredes, Marquinhos, Verratti; Di Maria, Mbappe, Draxler
Paris Saint-Germain are suffering from an injury crisis and will be without Neymar, Edinson Cavani and right-back Thomas Meunier for the game. Gianluigi Buffon should get the nod in goal ahead of Alphonse Areola while Dani Alves might play at right-back — Thilo Kehrer is the other option.

KEY MEN – RASHFORD VS MBAPPE
The interesting battle is between the two hotshot strikers who could be two of the best in the world in the next few years. Kylian Mbappe will be played slightly out of position through the middle.
He has not scored in his last two games but has five in his last five. Rashford has three in five games. He was also handed the Premier League’s player of the month award, showing his recent form.
Over the entire season, though, Rashford has far fewer goals. He has hit nine in the league, which speaks for the infrequent way he was used by Jose Mourinho.
Mbappe, on the other hand, has 18 goals across all competitions this campaign in fewer minutes. That might be evidence of the consistent way in which he has been used.
Which of the pair is more clinical on the night might go a long way to deciding the scope of the game — and the tie.

MANAGERS
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – Has little European experience, although managed Molde in the Europa League in his most recent spell there. Also managed to reach the round of 32 with the Norwegian team in the 2015-16 campaign. Has never managed in the Champions League, although did have a big part to play in United’s win in 1999 — which may be an understatement.

United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has little European experience as a manager
Thomas Tuchel – Had limited success in the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund. Did manage to take them to the quarter-final stage of the competition in 2017, although the infamous pre-match bus bombing unsettled his side and they went out at the hands of Monaco. Also reached the Europa League quarter-final stage in 2016, going out to Liverpool.

Thomas Tuchel has not done much in the European game while a manager at any of his clubs

Feeding Parochialism and Intolerance in a Plural Society
[ad_1]
“When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said ‘Let us pray.’ We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land.” – Desmond Tutu

URVASHI BABAJEE
Unfortunately, this statement by Desmond Tutu is a real picture of many countries where the larger crowd is blinded by the concept of power that politics exercise on them and the outcome can be negative. In not a blurring image, the larger crowd have nothing except their daily routine lives and struggles. Building a nation is essential for emerging economies even if they have to face many serious challenges. The space where we live in a democracy is applicable when we can express our views, where our voices are heard not only by showing our right to vote at elections but also for the right of order to be established in the future and for own security by providing regular checks and balances.
Today’s Mauritius is becoming more and more a nation where corruption prevails with no transparency at all, where its own people’s interests and voices are at zero. It is becoming a disorderly nation burning with increasing uncertainty. We feel pity for the poor along with the working class at the other side of the line, in fact, both affected by anxiety, anger and unconditional pressures which make them to be in a vacuum of frustration. As a nation, we are being pulled and pushed in multiple directions. On the other side, with institutions working under pressures would be a fatal error for our country. It is crystal clear that our opinions are biased by ethnic, religious convictions and favouritism occurs just for some people only among the larger crowd and for those who hold the strings of decision-making.
Given this, the question arises ‘Who would be the ideal political party to vote for the upcoming election?’ or perhaps ‘If politicians carry out their given tasks properly, our voices would be heard?’ which remains a source of hope for many citizens. In a plural society, what please one will not make the other person happy. In other words, we are tied up in a society where peace prevails and we are supposedly in a stable democracy although we have our different cultural preferences. Hence, to avoid dysfunction as well as discontent, the government has to satisfy everyone to cohabit. However, when having issues which have not well been addressed, and having political parties as always which have promoted their own leadership for their own interests, then, we probably have to think seriously for the upcoming election and the right vote to be given.
The future of politicians is brighter only with our votes. Otherwise, they are nothing and equally they will never be able to be in a better position unless they are given powers to meet our aspirations. History keeps on repeating itself as it seems quite impossible to break this vicious cycle as we have so many centric, corrupted leaders and unwilling to have a proper balance in their political engagement. Of course, failure is the backbone of such a political system, where the big players monopolise the political arena and our social, economic and financial problems are not tackled along with their promises made. In so doing, they reject to review reforms and the right policies are not implemented which result in more problems like public debt at all levels. It must be recognised that our diversity is at harm and in order to establish a dialogue, our sectors need to be well positioned, we need the right people to monitor and to make proper information public.
Significantly, these barriers could be eliminated which demonstrates an essential role of a democracy. All public speeches by our politicians are good, at times entertaining so that to retain and force the citizens to be in the realm of illusion. As a result, citizens are unable to deconstruct the simulacrum of Mauritian politics, as they become puppets at the hands of politicians. Make no error, be that passive citizen of a mislead culture and fragmented at times with no expectations become a form of entertainment for the big players. Our struggles are never depicted as a symbol of identification of our country because we are feeding so much of parochialism in a democracy where the nature of intolerance does not fit in.

’53 days with smiles’: Norwegian paper VG celebrate favourite son Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United boss prepares for Champions League test
- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unbeaten in 11 games as Manchester United manager
- Norwegian paper VG have now highlighted his incredible 53 days in charge
- Solskjaer is on loan from Molde and had been expected to return this summer
- Former United striker wants the job permanently and is now in the running
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s incredible start as Manchester United boss has been creating headlines for nearly two months – even in his home country.
The former United striker, who is on loan at Old Trafford from Norwegian club Molde, has won 10 of his 11 games in charge and is unbeaten in England.
That run of form prompted Norwegian tabloid Verdens Gang to pay tribute to their favourite son on Tuesday as they used the same picture of a smiling Solskjaer 53 times on the front of their sport pullout to represent his 53 days in charge.

Norway legend Jan Aage Fjortoft shared the front paper of VG on Twitter on Tuesday morning

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watches his players train ahead of Manchester United’s game with PSG
’53 days with smiles’, read the accompanying headline as they previewed Solskjaer’s first Champions League game in charge of United on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last-16 tie, with their interim boss looking to maintain his near-perfect start in the hotseat.
Norway legend Jan Aage Fjortoft, who played with Solskjaer for the national team, took to Twitter to share the page from VG, and declare that the country are in ‘Solskjaer wonderland’ as they follow his progress in Manchester.
United paid Molde £1.8million to take Solskjaer on loan for the rest of the season and it was expected that he would return to the club this summer.
However, United’s superb results, combined with hugely improved performances from the likes of Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, have boosted Solskjaer’s chances of getting the job on a full-time basis.

Solskjaer wants to remain at Old Trafford beyond this season despite being on loan from Molde
The 25-year-old is keen to replace Jose Mourinho long-term, with United’s players and staff also hopeful that he will be offered the chance to stay beyond the end of the current campaign.
Solskjaer was in his second spell in charge of Molde when he was poached for United, having first been manager between 2011 and 2014.
He left the club to take over at struggling Cardiff the first time around, but could not prevent their relegation from the Premier League and was sacked just a month into the following season after a poor start in the Championship.
