Manchester United are contemplating selling Romelu Lukaku to lure Paulo Dybala or Mauro Icardi to Old Trafford.

The United striker has only started two league games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Mirror reported United are ready to move him on.

Dybala and Icardi have fallen out of favour at Juventus and Inter Milan respectively and Lukaku is believed to be happy to move on.

The Belgium international was a firm favourite under sacked Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho but he is now struggling for game time.

Marcus Rashford has been utilised up front by Solskjaer and has flourished scoring five goals in six league games under the United manager.

Lukaku was on the bench for United’s 2-0 defeat by PSG on Tuesday but Solskjaer believes the Red Devils will bounce back.

He said: ‘I hate losing games, the boys hate it. They’ve been down, but there’s no point dwelling on it. There are big games with good teams coming up and we need to dust ourselves down.

‘You’ve got to bounce back at this club. You always have challenges and away against Chelsea is tough.

‘We know there was a spell against PSG, seven or eight minutes, when we lost our way. Apart from that, we weren’t too bad.’

Declan Rice’s dad has admitted he is disappointed that his son chose to play for England over Ireland.

Rice informed England manager Gareth Southgate and Ireland boss Mick McCarthy of his decision last week.

His dad Sean, who went to watch his son play for Ireland in March, was surprised at the decision according to the Sun.

Sean reportedly said: ‘I’m very Irish, my mum and dad were very Irish and Declan grew up in an Irish/English environment as a lot of people from London do.

‘And so at the end of the day he had to make a choice and I have to support my son.

‘I wouldn’t have thought for 100 years he’d run out in an England shirt but he’s got his reasons.

‘It’s just a shame really — fingers crossed it all goes well.’

Rice has played three times for Ireland but because these matches against Turkey, France and the United States last year were all friendlies, the London-born player was still able to make the switch to England.

Paulo Dybala has posted a picture of himself posing in the same position as his dog after himself and Cristiano Ronaldo copied each other’s celebrations on Friday night.

Dybala spectacularly ended his 10-game goal drought and Ronaldo was also on target again as Juventus cruised to a 3-0 home win against lowly Frosinone, with the third coming from Leonardo Bonucci.

Argentina forward Dybala, who last scored in December, silenced his critics by firing home an unstoppable 25-yard effort and then produced the celebration made famous by his Portuguese colleague.

Ronaldo then drilled home his 21st of the season in all competitions just after the hour-mark to ensure Juve equalled their biggest win of the season.

The former Real Madrid star then took a page out of Dybala’s book by utilising his celebration and placing his hands over his face to make a mask.

Dybala took the game to another live on Saturday though and posted a picture on Instagram of himself and his dog both flat on their backs and their arms stretched wide with the caption ‘The imitation game’.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri was pleased to see Dybala return to the scoresheet as his side now turn their attention to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in midweek.

‘I’m happy for him,’ Allegri said after the game. ‘He had a great performance and scored a great goal. The attackers live for this.

‘Juventus needs a player like him, who is good on the lines. This year the development of the game makes him find less space to score, but he is continuing to play very well.’

Glenn Hoddle has admitted he cheated death when he suffered a horrific heart attack at the BT Sport studios in October, claiming ‘my heart stopped for at least 60 seconds.’

The former England manager, 61, collapsed on the set towards the end of a broadcast on October 27 and was immediately taken to hospital and subsequently underwent surgery, to which he is responding well.

Hoddle was discharged from hospital late in November and has been continuing his recovery at home. In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday, Hoddle has now opened up about the terrifying experience and revealed just how close he came to death.

Hoddle said: ‘My heart stopped for at least 60 seconds. I was gone. The engineer ran to me and brought me back to life. I wouldn’t be here if not for him. It just wasn’t my time to go.

‘Robbie (Savage) and I had been playing the keepy-uppy game at the end of the programme. Robbie said that after the credits rolled I was just at the moment of volleying the ball back to him when I fell backwards and smashed my head on the floor.

‘Robbie soon realised something very serious had happened. He couldn’t do anything, so started shouting for help.

Hoddle was taken seriously ill following filming at the BT Sports studios with Harry Redknapp

A member of the BT Sport production crew, special constable Simon Daniels, used his first aid training to help Hoddle in the moments after he collapsed.

Daniels gave Hoddle immediate medical attention and his swift actions were praised by both Hoddle’s family and also Assistant Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police Nikki Ross, who said he had been ‘incredible’.

‘Thank God first-aider Simon was nearby and got to me so quickly,’ Hoddle added. ‘If he had been in the toilet, or left the studio, or not on duty, I would not be here to tell my story. He performed chest compressions and fitted a defibrillator on my chest to keep me alive.

‘Simon is a mild-mannered guy and was apologetic afterwards because something kicked in during the emergency and he was ordering everyone about. He told strangers “Do this, do that”. He is a volunteer policeman and was embarrassed. It goes without saying if my cardiac arrest had struck on the golf course, or when I was watching Spurs play in the Netherlands a few days earlier, I’d be a goner.’

Hoddle was enthusiastic moments before the collapse but is now recovering in hospital

He had demonstrated his ball skills during the show before he was taken seriously ill

Hoddle was in such a severe state that an air ambulance was used to transport him from the studious in Stratford, East London, to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

After his discharge from hospital in November, Hoddle’s spokesperson said: ‘The care that Glenn received from St Bartholomew’s Hospital was exemplary.

‘His family would like to thank the hospital staff and the many people who have sent supportive messages. Doctors have outlined that rest is paramount for Glenn now.

‘With that in mind, his family ask politely that their privacy is respected and that Glenn is given time to recover fully.’

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s prospects of signing a new deal at Chelsea have receded even further after Gianfranco Zola’s comments that the winger is on the ‘edge of the team’ and ‘there aren’t many 18-year-olds in Europe playing as many games as him.’

Hudson-Odoi, the subject of a £35million bid from Bayern Munich last month, was already dispirited by Maurizio Sarri’s reluctance to use him, but Zola’s response to the six minutes he was given at Malmo in the Europa League on Thursday will have only strengthened his conviction that the coach doesn’t truly believe in him.

Hudson-Odoi is not expected to start against Manchester United on Monday, despite starting in the two previous FA Cup rounds against Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.

Bayern will bid again for him in April, though the player would wait until January 1 next year to sign for them if a fee is not agreed this summer.

If he moves in 2020, the year his contract runs out, Chelsea will get minimal compensation, compared to the £35m Bayern were willing to pay last month.

Hudson-Odoi did briefly seem to be making an impression on Sarri when he started the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham, but that came after Bayern’s £35m bid. He is still yet to start a Premier League match for Chelsea.

The teenager has been restricted to two cameo appearances since the transfer window closed

Zola’s intervention jarred, given that 18-year-olds Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid and Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund are both getting regular starts for Champions League clubs fighting for their respective league titles.

Hudson-Odoi’s advisors fear it is unlikely he will get enough playing time in the next 18 months to develop in the way Sancho and Vinicius can.

Despite Chelsea’s £80,000-a-week offer, they have always made it clear that the decision will not be motivated by money but by the amount of playing time he will get at Bayern.

The Germans would give Hudson-Odoi the No 10 shirt and make him fundamental to the club’s rebuild, with Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery leaving at the end of the season.

Chelsea signed Christian Pulisic for £58m for next season and even with Eden Hazard expected to join Real Madrid, there is no indication Willian or Pedro will leave, meaning Hudson-Odoi would remain fourth-choice winger.
