The post Aurora Expeditions announces Patagonia treks appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily.

The award-winning Australian adventure travel company, Aurora Expeditions, is pleased to announce its new treks in Patagonia commencing from 19 November 2022. The two 10-day itineraries, Patagonia Discovery Trek and Torres Del Paine Explorer, dovetail seamlessly with Aurora Expeditions’ Antarctic sailings.

The treks weave their way through the Patagonian wilderness, providing insight into this barren, but vibrant environment filled with fascinating flora and fauna. Sweeping across the border of Argentina and Chile, the beauty of Patagonia is reminiscent of a David Attenborough documentary. Trekkers experience everything from the dramatic mountain ranges and valleys with cascading rivers, to the glittering glaciers and azure lakes.

“Our highly experienced team has curated several fascinating treks in Patagonia, showcasing the region’s little-explored corners ensuring our travellers see incredible locations and experience nature at its finest,” commented Michael Heath, CEO of Aurora Expeditions.

“Many of our Antarctic passengers wish to extend their time in the South American region and these new itineraries are designed to make the most of their schedule,” added Heath. “The Patagonia experience complements our comprehensive range of Antarctic itineraries. And now with two ships, the Greg Mortimer and the soon-to-be-launched, Sylvia Earle, the 2022/23 season is able to meet the increasing demand for people to take that once-in-a-lifetime trip.”

The Torres Del Paine Explorer stays within the Chilean border and the Patagonia Discovery Trek offers travellers three options enabling them to combine an Antarctic sailing with a timely trek: an Argentina return trip; an Argentina to Chile itinerary and a Chile to Argentina version.

Patagonia Discovery Trek Los Glaciares & Torres del Paine

Discover the vast Patagonian wilderness on this unique guided walking trip, taking in two of Patagonia’s most iconic national parks and the famed Perito Moreno Glacier. Hike rugged trails overlooking iridescent blue glacial lakes, as Andean condors soar overhead among the towering ice-capped peaks.

Torres del Paine Explorer Torres del Paine

Immerse yourself in the treasures of Chilean Patagonia. Discover the dramatic alpine scenery and fascinating wildlife of the Torres del Paine National Park with four full days of hiking with your local guide. Ascend through the Ascencio Valley along the renowned W Trek and take in the stunning views on the lesser-known Lazo-Weber trail. Keep your eyes peeled for rheas, flamingos and guanacos.

Each guided trek is priced from US$5,145 per person twin share and limited to a maximum of 20 hikers, ensuring immersive, life-changing small-group opportunities in the spectacularly scenic Patagonia region of South America.

Passengers can save up to five per cent when booking a trek with an Antarctic cruise.

Trek price includes nightly accommodation with ensuite, most meals, private ground transport and all guide fees and national park entrance fees.

As the hospitality sector begins to display a resurgence in global travel, Cross Hotels & Resorts is ramping up its environmental awareness credentials with the recent signing of two new hotel management agreements (HMA) in Bangkok and Pattaya. The twin deal with Evergreen Hospitality Co., Ltd. ushers in a sustainable drive towards reducing overall emissions.

As Asia Pacific’s leading creator of inspired hospitality solutions, Cross Hotels & Resorts is determined to minimize its carbon footprint by implementing ethical and responsible procedures that include planting more trees and robustly executing the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle). At the vanguard of achieving maximum sustainability across its portfolio, the signing of the HMAs witnessed executives from both companies move from the boardroom to the garden where they planted trees to endorse the dynamism of the agreement.

In the Thai capital, Away Bangkok Sukhumvit is a 78-key boutique hotel close to leading business, entertainment and shopping centers, and a short walk to Phrom Phong BTS station making it a perfect location for business and leisure travelers. Meanwhile, situated just minutes from Pattaya’s famed beach, the stylish 70-room Cross Vibe South Pattaya provides guests with a wide range of facilities that include spacious rooms with balconies and terraces, onsite parking and easy access to the city’s renowned dining, entertainment and retail zones.

“We are excited to enter this partnership with Evergreen Hospitality Co., Ltd. and I believe the joint commitment aligns our shared values of Sustainability, Responsibility and Eco-Awareness. We continue to take proactive steps to reduce our impact on the planet by keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum and this visionary signing is another major step towards realizing our goal. In the same vein, these two properties are a clear fit for our brands Away and Cross Vibe as they align with our strategy of investing in the world-class destinations of Bangkok and Pattaya. While Away is based on the ethos of “Escape Everyday Life”, Cross Vibe invites guests to “Stay, Chill, and Enjoy” whether it’s at a beach or city location,” said Harry Thaliwal, CEO of Cross Hotels & Resorts.

Relentlessly committed to excellence, the passion that runs through Cross Hotels & Resorts continues to act as a catalyst that ultimately drives hospitality to new heights. Now with a pent up demand for international travel, the goal is to continue the expansion into the myriad of desired destinations within Asia Pacific. Bucking the cautious ‘wait and see’ industry growth trend, this announcement brings the total to eight new HMA signings for Cross Hotels & Resorts in 2022.

“Our trust and confidence in Cross Hotels & Resorts is a result of its leading brands and the global distribution that is backed by Flight Centre Travel Group. The convergence of our views and values will create a new benchmark for service quality and overall excellence, while at the same time raising the profile of our properties destination,” added Sukhit Narula, Chairman of Evergreen Hospitality Co., Ltd.

Malaysia Airlines Chooses A330neos To Renew Aging A330 Fleet

The post Malaysia Airlines Chooses A330neos To Renew Aging A330 Fleet appeared first on TD (Travel Daily Media) Travel Daily.

As part of its fleet renewal strategy, Malaysia Airlines plans to buy 20 Airbus A330neo widebodies to replace its ageing medium-haul aircraft.

The 20 aircraft will comprise ten leased from lessor Avolon, while the other ten planes will be purchased directly from Airbus.

The Oneworld carrier’s current 21 A330s will be retired and replaced by the first A330neo in the fleet in 2024.

Jets powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 will carry 300 passengers in a two-class “luxury layout” throughout Asia, the Pacific, and the Middle East.

The acquisition of the A330neo is a natural transition from our present A330 fleet CEO,” Izham Ismail of Malaysia Airlines, said of the order, calling it an “important milestone” in the airline’s post-restructuring plans. Modernizing the fleet and increasing operational efficiency aren’t the only benefits the A330neo will provide; it will also help the airline reach its environmental goals by lowering fuel consumption per passenger.

The A330neo is the most cost-effective choice in this size category for premium operations,” Christian Scherer, head of commercial at Airbus, explains. It’s also the best option for onboard luxury, and we can’t wait to collaborate with Malaysia Airlines to create an unforgettable cabin experience.

This marks Malaysia Airlines as the second Malaysian airline to operate the A330neo, after AirAsia X, which had previously placed a large order for the widebody but considerably reduced it in April.
