Frank Lampard is planning on making Thiago Silva his Chelsea captain, should his free transfer to Stamford Bridge be completed.
The Brazilian stated that he had played his final game for Paris Saint-Germain in the aftermath of Sunday’s Champions League final, the Ligue 1 side having lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is desperate for the 35-year-old to stay in the French capital, but it appears the defender’s mind is made up.

And part of that may be down the importance of the role he is set to play in west London.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo, Lampard will ask Silva to take the armband for the 2020-21 season, taking it from Cesar Azpilicueta.
Silva has rejected the chance to take up money-spinning moved to China and the Middle East in a bid to keep himself at the top level.
Speaking about his future after this final game for PSG, Silva has intimated that he wants to continue playing until he is at least 38, and is targeting a spot in the Brazil squad for Qatar 2022.

‘It was my last game in Paris. I am sad. I apologise to the fans,’ Silva said following the defeat against Bayern.
‘I thank all the fans for their love. I will return to Paris and this club that I love in another role.
‘I want to play three to four years still and be part of Brazil team in the Qatar World Cup,’ he said after the Champions League final.
