Arsenal are knocked OUT of the FA Cup by Championship opponents Nottingham Forest as Lewis Grabban nets late winner after off-colour Gunners struggled to create chances
It was a weekend of upsets in the FA Cup and Arsenal’s trip to Nottingham Forest was no exception as the hosts repeated their 2018 feat.
Prior to Sunday night’s fixture, the Gunners, who have won the tournament a record 14 times, had only been beaten once at the third round stage in the last 25 years – now it stands at twice as Forest beat them again.
Arsenal were left frustrated as they found themselves held to a 0-0 stalemate heading into half-time despite dominating possession as Forest threatened in rare attacks.
Nottingham Forest’s surging attacks finally paid off as they broke the deadlock with another great break. Ryan Yates delivered a perfect cross into the box which served the chance up on a plate for club captain Lewis Grabban.
Nuno Tavares lasted just 34 minutes on the pitch as Mikel Arteta decided to switch him off for Kieran Tierney. He did not appear to be injured s he threw a tantrum on the sidelines.
