Germany are increasingly confident that Jamal Musiala will choose them over England when the teenager makes a final decision on his international future.

Both nations have been keen to secure the services of the 17-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder, who has represented both at youth level, but no concrete decision has yet been made.

However, according to Goal, Germany’s head coach Joachim Low met with Musiala last weekend after Bayern’s 4-1 victory over Hoffenheim to praise the player.

Low has spoken of his admiration for the teenager before, and the German FA are confident that the meeting between the pair will help finalise Musiala’s decision in their favour.

The midfielder was born in Stuttgart but grew up in London and while he twice played for Germany’s U16s, he has also featured twice for England’s U21s, including as recently as November.

Musiala likely has until next month to make his decision, when both England and Germany will return to international action with their first three World Cup qualifiers.

The young starlet spent much of his youth in the Chelsea academy, but left in 2019 to join Bayern. He has made 21 appearances already for the Germany champions this season, scoring three goals.

Ever since his arrival, Musiala has been breaking records. He became Bayern’s youngest ever player when he made his debut against Freiburg in June, and then their youngest ever scorer when he netted against Schalke on the opening day of this season.

Sportsmail exclusively revealed in December that Bayern had opened up contract negotiations with Musiala, whose current deal runs out at the end of next season.

This new deal was expected to be in excess of £100,000-per-week and according to Goal, while negotiations are still ongoing, the teenager is ready to commit to a deal that will extend his contact through to 2025.
