Marseille fans storm clubs’s Robert Louis-Dreyfus training centre setting off fireworks and ‘throwing smoke bombs and firecrackers’ at the entrance in anger with the club’s owner and their recent form

Marseille fans have stormed the club’s Robert Louis-Dreyfus Centre training ground to stage a protest ahead of their match against Rennes.
Fans gathered and marched towards the complex on Saturday afternoon equipped with flares.
Videos have circulated on social media with fireworks being set off by furious fans who attacked the front gates to the complex.

A further video shows fans have got past the front gates and outside of the complex with their faces covered up.
La Provence reported that fans set a tree on fire and sprayed the entrance to the complex with smoke bombs, firecrackers and fireworks.
While RMC added that 25 fans have been arrested and that a number of supporters did successfully breach the security to get past the front gate and enter the training complex.
It is not known whether any coaching or playing staff were in the centre at the time of the incident.
Marseille are in action though on Saturday evening against Rennes at the Stade Velodrome.
Fans are believed to be angry with the team’s recent run of form having dropped off the pace when they were in the title race back in November.

The club were in title contention until November but have only won three of their last ten
The club have lost their last four consecutive games in all competitions and have won just three of their last ten league games.
Marseille currently occupy eighth place in Ligue 1 with 32 points on the board, 14 points adrift of league leaders Lyon.
Fans are also against Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud and want him to leave the club.
Speaking earlier in the week, manager Andre Villas-Boas believed his days at the club were numbered. As per The Sun he said: ‘It looks like the end. I think it’ll all be over in June.
‘I’m demanding nothing because looking at where we are it wouldn’t be right. And I think everyone agrees with that.’
