Arsenal youngster Gabriel Martinelli has been ruled out of the FA Cup clash with Newcastle after appearing to badly hurt his ankle in a freak warm-up injury.
Martinelli was taking part in a pre-match possession drill when his studs looked to get caught in the Emirates turf.
The Brazilian forward saw his knee jolt and his body weight go over on his right ankle and was quickly left in a heap on the floor, prompting his team-mates to urge for medical attention.

Club legend Ian Wright noted that the injury looked ‘quite worrying’ during his on-air punditry duties for BBC.
Martinelli was swiftly replaced in the starting line-up by Reiss Nelson, and is now set to undergo further medical examination.
In a bitterly unfortunate blow, Martinelli had only just returned to the Arsenal set-up following a serious knee injury which had kept him out for several months.
Martinelli had to be helped to his feet by two physios and looked to be in considerable pain, though was able to hobble down the tunnel with assistance.
Arsenal later confirmed soon after that the 19-year-old ‘turned his ankle’ though were unable to provide any further detail.
