- Some 25 Covid-19 tests were conducted for Marine and all came back negative
- Those results allow the non-league side to face Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham
- Marine have sold 10,000 online tickets for their historic FA Cup third round tie
- They will earn £125,000, more than the £100,000 that would have come in
Marine’s historic FA Cup third-round tie against Tottenham will go ahead after all players from the non-league side tested negative for coronavirus.
Some 25 Covid tests were conducted as part of the latest round of testing, and the eighth division side will have breathed a huge sigh of relief with the results meaning they are allowed to face Jose Mourinho‘s side.
There was in fact double joy for the club, with their digital ticket campaign passing the 10,000 mark, meaning that they will collect nearly £125,000 from selling the stated amount of online tickets.

A tweet on the club’s official Twitter account said: ‘We have now reached 10,000 tickets sold for our match v @SpursOfficial.
‘The emotion now for what the football world has done in our name is overwhelming. There is no better feeling than when football comes together. THANK YOU!’
That figure is in fact more than they would have earned had a full crowd at the Marine Travel Arena been allowed to attend on Sunday.
Chief executive James Leary revealed earlier this week that they would have earned approximately £100,000 in revenue if the games was not being played behind closed doors due to the latest coronavirus lockdown.
The club have also sold 10,000 digital tickets to see manager Neil Young (right) and Niall Cummins (left) in action, which will see the side earn £125,000

‘Being behind closed doors in the FA Cup run we’ve missed out on £100,000,’ Leary told The Athletic.
‘We budget to make about £3,000 in the FA Cup each year. So when you take what we’ve done, it’s just unbelievable.
‘Our wage budget was probably between the £100,000-130,000 mark to start the season — we’ve probably just shy of doubled that.’
