POLICE COMMUNIQUE
Issue of Firearm/ Game Licences/Competency Certificates/ Employee Permits for Year 2021
The fees as prescribed in the Second Schedule of the Firearms Act and the Firearms (Competency Certificate) Regulations 2007 have been amended. The undermentioned new prescribed fees will be effective as from 01 January 2021:-
(i) Firearm licence in respect of a firearm, a shotgun, an air gun or air rifle – Rs 8 000
(ii) Renewal of firearm licence in respect of a firearm, a shotgun, an air gun or air rifle- Rs 8 000
(iii) Firearm licence in respect of a pistol or revolver – Rs 8 000
(iv) Import permit in respect of firearms – Rs 15 000
(v) Export permit in respect of firearms – Rs 6 000
(vi) Employee permit- Rs 1 500
(vii) Game licence – Rs 5 000
(viii) Issuing duplicate firearm/game licence – Rs 2 000
(ix) Issuing duplicate firearm licence booklet – Rs 2 000
(x) Safekeeping at the Police Armoury of firearms belonging to private parties:
(a) for each such firearm, per month – Rs 500
(b) during the period of one year after the expiry of the period referred to in section 22(1A)(a) of the Firearms Act 2006 for each such firearm, per month – Rs 1 000
(xi) Safekeeping at the Police Armoury of firearms in transit-
(a) for each such firearm, per day – Rs 500
(b) during the period of one year after the expiry of the period of 2 years, for each such firearm, per day – Rs 1 000
(xii) Competency test:
Theoretical Module – Rs 1 000
Practical Module – Rs 1 000
Tests – Rs 1 000
Issue of duplicate competency certificate – Rs 500
