Dear friends,
It is with utmost pleasure that I, PERSAND Daveen, student of LLB Level 3, and actual Vice-President of the Students' Union, am announcing that once again, I will be postulating for Office Bearer under the banner of the STUDENT FORCE family.
During my time at UOM, both as an executive of the Union and even before that, I had the privilege to head many events such as the UOM Model Parliament (alongside Girish Unrodee), different talks and workshops on the combat against drugs and on public speaking, the EOAY, the Freshers' Party and a plethora of other activities. Through these years, I learnt the different aspects of leadership, management and most importantly, the meaning of the word 'responsibility'.
First and foremost I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the support you gave me during my mandate that was the source of my strength throughout. They say a leader is nothing without the support of his comrades and honestly this couldn't be more accurate. You have been my driving force all throughout and you kept me going. So once again here I am, requesting you to renew your trust in me, to join me on this journey yet again, to march further in this combat for a better campus and to vote for my family the Student Force again.
What has marked me most during my run as Vice President of the Students' Union, certainly has to be the way in which the University managed things during the Covid-19 lockdown and its aftermath and the difficulties the Students' Union had to face to defend the best interests of students. I realised that the next SU will NEED to be even stronger and better because the situation ahead is going to be more challenging.
It is under this spirit, and pushed by love for my beloved university and my team, that I have decided to go for it once again. BUT this time, I am armed with new ideas, valuable experience and an in depth knowledge of the mechanisms of our institutions. I will be able to make even better decisions, thanks to my experience and make sure that the mistakes of the past are not repeated.
Voting is a right acquired after the long struggles, trials and tribulations of many of our ancestors. A vote for the Students Force is a vote for competence, consistency and dynamism. If you trust us, come cast a vote in our name on the 24th and 25th of November!
Counting on you,
Daveen ❤
