Manuel Neuer works out with Bundesliga trophy after he captained Bayern to eighth consecutive title

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer posted a video of his gym work-out whilst using the Bundesliga trophy as a weight.

The 34-year-old can be seen wearing a face mask whilst in his Bayern Munich training kit as he lifts the trophy above and below his head – much to the amusement of the people watching him.

The video was posted to his Instagram a couple weeks after Bayern won their eighth consecutive German topflight title.

After he uses the shield-like trophy to work out his upper body, he moves onto some sit-ups using the trophy as an added weight.

The German played a crucial part, as always, as Bayern asserted their dominance in the Bundesliga once again.

They finished the season with five more victories than any other side in the league and ended up 13 points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

The club captain featured in 33 of their 34 league matches, as he continues to maintain his world-class performance levels as he gets older.

Neuer’s contract with Bayern Munich runs until 2023 when he hits 37 years of age.
