Republic of Mauritius- MRA seizes drugs worth some Rs 1 million

GIS – 13 March, 2020: Three parcels containing cannabis resin and methylenedioxy-methamphetamine worth some Rs 1 million were secured at the Parcel Post Office by the officers of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) on 11 March 2020.

The unclaimed parcels were selected by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section for examination based on suspicious scanning images. Two of the parcels were destined to residents of Quatre Bornes while the third one was addressed to an inhabitant of Rose Hill.

The parcels were handed over to the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit for further investigation.
