Republic of Mauritius- Newly appointed German Ambassador calls on Prime Minister

In a statement to the press, Mr Derus stated that discussions with the Prime Minister focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Mauritius and Germany. He emphasised that one of his priorities is to enhance relationships between the two countries in the economic field as well as to help Mauritius attract more investment from Germany. Mauritius, he said, can be considered as a regional champion with the ongoing development in all sectors and can easily attract investors from Germany and countries across the world.

Moreover, the Ambassador stated that the two countries have many areas of mutual interest where they can deepen cooperation and also evoked the possibility of collaboration in the field of renewable and sustainable energy.
