Republic of Mauritius- Nepalese Minister of Labour pays courtesy call on Prime Minister Jugnauth

The Minister is currently in Mauritius in the context of a technical Joint Working Group set up following the signature of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mauritius and Nepal on the recruitment of Nepalese labour force.  The Joint Working Group had meetings these past two days to discuss the modalities of recruitment of Nepalese workers with particular emphasis on the need for ethical recruitment.

In a statement following the courtesy call, the Minister shared that discussions with the Prime Minister focused on the recruitment process of Nepalese labour, the implementation of the MoU between Mauritius and Nepal, as well as exploring avenues of cooperation in the agriculture sector and how to tap on investment prospects.  The Minister also seized the opportunity to extend an invitation to Prime Minister Jugnauth to attend a conference on climate scheduled this year in Nepal.
